Check who can send and receive

Start with a Steam account that already has this playtest’s access. The game’s displayed allowance is up to three friends. Valve’s platform rule requires a Steam friendship of at least 30 days; the developer can pause invitations or restrict eligible senders.

Those three invitations are admission places, not a session-size limit. Every invited friend still needs to accept and install through their own account. Co-op covers the separate group-play task.

Send through Steam; accept on the invited account

  1. Sender: use the playtest’s Steam invite control

Sign into the admitted account and use the Friend Invites control Steam currently offers for the test. Select an eligible Steam friend; if that control is absent, do not assume the store’s historical allowance remains available to your account.

  2. Recipient: check the notification or store page

Valve says the recipient receives a Steam notification and can also see invite status on the base game’s store page. Use the invited account to open and accept it.

  3. Recipient: confirm the entitlement

Check for the playtest in that account’s Library, then use the download guide. Accepting an invite and launching a currently playable build are separate checks.

This combines the game’s stated allowance with Valve’s documented platform flow. The live game-specific sender controls have not been tested using an admitted account.

If the invitation is missing or unusable

  • Check the recipient Steam account and the 30-day friendship requirement.
  • Ask the sender to check remaining allowance and whether their account currently has an invitation control.
  • Look in Steam notifications and the official base-game store page rather than expecting a key or Discord role.
  • If acceptance succeeds but the game will not launch, distinguish a missing install from a test that is currently not playable.

The optional AI service grants neither invitation eligibility nor admission. For account-status questions, return to playtest access.
